Disconnect your Car Battery

Many signs indicate when your car battery is dying. The most apparent sign is when you try to crank up your car but it won’t turn on or when you need to crank it a few times. Also, flickering lights are an indicator of a dying battery.

• Loosen the negative gage’s nut with a wrench
• Then remove the negative conductor
• You’ll do the same for the positive side
• The battery should come out after the conductors have been removed

Installing a New Car Battery

Now, before installing your new car battery you must clean the battery reservoir of any battery residue with degreaser or a mixture of water and baking soda. You must also clean the battery conductors with a wire brush. After this is done, do the following to install your car battery:

• Put the new battery in the holding location
• Spray the gages with anti-corrosion fluid
• Attach the negative (blue or black) and positive (red) cables onto the right terminals, and tighten them.
